Welcome to the Hope Diaries

Thank you so much for visiting.

I guess you want to know what I write about and why I write it ?

My greatest hope, is that by sharing my story you will know….

that neither loneliness, nor infidelity, nor illness, nor pain, nor despair, nor depression, nor seriously messing up, can ever separate us from the love of God.

On this blog I do my best to engage honestly with the reality of life in all its messiness, with a belief that no matter what is going on there is hope in the person of Jesus.

I began the blog in 2014 when I believed my marriage was ending. I wrote because I wanted to keep a record of what happened after I told God that He was all that I had.

God has been incredible and I hope that you will be encouraged by this story. I’m still married 🙂

I live in the UK, with my husband, children and our animals. We have jobs and friends and family and bad habits, and we’re familiar with chronic pain, mental health issues and depression, as well as adventures, outdoor fires and laughter.

I write under a pseudonym because I decided that I wanted to write utterly honestly, and for the sake of my children, that should not be in my real name. I chose the name ‘Caiobhe’ (Kee-va) which means Beautiful at Birth, as a reminder that we are all created beautiful, and that God only makes beautiful things. ( and if you get the Gungor reference, I think we’re going to be friends…)

I’m not much of a scheduler so I can’t tell you how often I will post…

I love the community that has grown around this space and I invite you to join it. Please feel free to comment on posts, follow my  twitter, or get the blog posts delivered straight to you via email. If you’d rather contact me by email its caiobhesblog@gmail.com

I hope that you find encouragement and community here.

love, grace and peace to you.

  1. Thank you so very much for sharing your story. My 31 series is 31 days of favorites – its my personal favorites from 31 day series now and past. Today your series is my favorite. You series gives me hope that one day, if my marriage is in shambles and falling apart, there is hope!

    1. Ashley, thank you so much for this encouragement! I am glad that you have heard what it is I’m wanting to share. I guess I don’t feel this stuff is talked about enough, and so when crisis hits we can think we are the only person who’s ever experienced whatever it is we are experiencing, and we don’t know where to find help from those who’ve walked the same path. I pray your marriage never is in shambles though!

  2. Hi So thankful to another friend who posted your link on facebook. I would LOVE to connect with you. Our stories seem very similar – mine is the basis for a book I’m currently writing about taking off the mask and being real with one another. I have really enjoyed looking around your site. x

    1. Thanks for reading – yes, taking off the mask is difficult but I think we really need to let others know the reality of our lives so that we can share the hard and the celebration when we see what God can do. I look forward to reading your book!

  3. Thank you for your vulnerability and optimism. I love your word for this year — rooted. I prayed for you this morning, that God will continue to restore your marriage. I’ve been there and He’s done that for me. Blessings to you in 2015.

  4. Quite by accident I stumbled across a hashtag that brought me to your Facebook and Instagram pages. Those pages got me to your Instagram page and finally to the website and here to your blog. What a blessing this is! I’ve read post after post of yours and been inspired to once again find myself – find the person that I’ve lost touch with. What a gift you have given to me with your honesty and your inspiration. Thank you.
